Waterclaw had left camp and gone out for a hunt. Wind caressed her fur as she followed the scent of a mouse not far off.
Spotting the mouse, Waterclaw went into a hunters crouch and inched her way close enough to pounce. Catching it and killing it, she buried it for later and moved on, coming closer to the Thunderpath as she went.

Blackstar was out walking when she heard someone hunting. She smelled Waterclaw, and sighed. "Hello Waterclaw." she said walking up to the warrior. "How's hunting?" She heard a mouce a little off, she got into her hunting's crouch and jumped through the bushed and onto the mouce and killed ot. She then burried it next to Waterclaw's.

Waterclaw dipped her head at Blackstar. "Huntings going well enough." She replied as she watched her leader bury another mouse.
By now, Waterclaw had made her way to the edge of the Thunderpath and kept glancing at the other side, like she expected ThunderClan to be watching. She kept on the move as another scent drifted to her nose.

Maplekit wandered out toward the two senior warriors --well, seniors to her, anyways- and looked intently on how they crouched and sprung onto the prey in one fluid movement. Cool.. She thought to herself as she her eyes suddenly caught the sight of Waterclaw's tail swishing back and forth, only inches away. I'll get it! To prove to them that I don't need to be six Moons to become an apprentice! I can just be four! The youngest apprentice ever! She thought to herself excitedly as huge grin spread across her face.
She slunk down into a small crouch, not the correct form, but good enough for her, and crawled toward the cat only mouse-lengths away. She suddenly pounced, claws unsheathed, and grabbed a hold of Waterclaw's tail. "Oof... Hey! I got it!" She cried out in triumph as she still clenched Waterclaw's tail between her small, sharp claws. She smiled and sat down in happiness and joy as she thought of how proud her leader and fellow Clan mate would be at her first success, but still didn't let go of her tail. "Betcha didn't even know I was coming!" She said cheerfully, rambling on and on about her first so called 'catch.' ------------------------------- Word Count: 209

Waterclaw gave a sharp yowl as she spun her head to see what had latched onto her tail. "Maplekit!" The warrior growled, "what are you doing so far from camp?!" The words shot out like claws, but this only meant she was worried. "Do you have any idea what could have happened to you Maplekit?" Waterclaw said severly, yanking her tail out of the kit's jaws.

She chuckled. "That's a good catch but now let go of her tail." she said to Maplekit. "I want to know why your out of the camp? Your not old enough yet to be out here alone." She looked sternly at her. "You have a couple moons befor you can be an apprentice." she said, she caught sent of a mouse a couple mouse-tail's away. "Shhhh." she said then got into a hunting crouch and pounced on the mouse and killed it.

"Well.. I saw you guys coming out here, and it was the first time I had been out of the nursery since mom is so over protective.. I waited until you couldn't see me and then I followed your scent." Maplekit explained quickly, stumbling over a few of her words. "But why can't I come out here? I'm with you guys now, and I did so good coming out here!" She argued. She knew she shouldn't be arguing with two senior warriors, but she continued anyways.
Maplekit had always been one of the adventurous kits who never listened, even in her short life so far. She had wandered into the warriors den twice, leader's den once, and even the elder's den a few times in one moon! "Pleaseee. Can't I stay out here with you guys?" She begged as she looked up at the senior warriors with her big melting eyes. She dragged her paw around in the dirt in circles as she waited her answer.
